There a few greater brewers of stouts and porters in Europe tan De Molen so we were delighted to welcome them back to Leeds for a second time to put together something suitably rich for the occasion. As you’d expect, this brew is all about the malt. Classic English Maris Otter malt acts as a base to many layers of complexity, starting with copious quantities of oats for mouthfeel. Three different crystal malts were also brought in to add notes of dark fruit, toffee and treacle to the flavour profile along with Munich malt for depth. Finally, Lactose to give the silkiest of drinking experiences, as expected of a milk stout.
